On account of Good Friday Digi Dhan Melas may organized on other date, CEO NITI Aayog

Shillong, April 13: The Chief Executive Officer of National Institution for  Transforming India (NITI) Aayog Mr Amitabh Kant, today has sent urgent D.O letter to the Chief Secretary of Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland that on account of Good Friday state government are facing an issue about organizing Digi Dham Melas on 14th April 2017.

In the D.O letter sent to the Chief Secretary of the three state the CEO of the NITI Aayog state that , “ it has been decided that Digi Dhan Melas may be held on any other date convenient to the state government of Meghalaya, Mizoram and & Nagaland”.

The official press statement issued from the government of Meghalaya said that “on the intervention of the State Government, NITI Aayog has decided that on account of Good Friday, organizing of Digi Dhan Melas will not be held on the 14th April, 2017 for the State of Meghalaya, Nagaland and Mizoram. The Melas may be organized on any other date convenient to the State Government”.
