Shillong, December 07: The Secretary finance government of Meghalaya Mr Sanjay Goyal said that there is state has sufficient cash is available in the state with lover denomination people should be panic in this festive session.
The Chief Secretary of the state is constantly keeping in touched with the finance ministry government of India and the Reserved Bank of India to see that there should be sufficient supply of low denomination of cash into the state.
Mr Goyal said that the cash position in the state has improved, with just 5pc ten days before to 12pc as today and it will go up to 20 pc in this few days. This of lower denomination not considering the two thousand note.
To ease the public the government has asked the all banks in the state engaged business correspondent both in Khasi and Jaintia region and the Garo Hills region as well so that people will not face problem in getting new cash.
The government has written to all the Deputy Commissioners in the state to organized coin mela so that people having with two thousand note they exchange with the ten rupee coin.
