Shillong, January 10: Mr Saupan Saha of Dhupdhara, Assam lodged a complaint that on 15th December 2016 he received one anonymous SMS in which the sender claiming to be a GNLA cadre demanded Rs. 1,50,000/-. Out of fear, the complainant paid Rs. 30,000/-. In this connection, Police arrested three persons, three people Mr Tengkrang M Sangma, Mr Sanjal Khan M Sangma and and Mr Kinseng R Marak.
In a separate incident the police arrested one Truilson Ch Marak 51 years from Khaldang Rongret village under Resubelpara Police station of North Garo Hills for manufacturing illegal firearms. Police also seized, one country-made gun, six empty country-made ammunition cases and eleven pieces of iron pipes from his house.
