Shillong Lajong FC won their third consecutive match in the ongoing U-17 Subroto Cup

Shillong October 14: Shillong Lajong FC Academy Boys won their third consecutive match in the ongoing U-17 Subroto Cup International Football Tournament.

Shillong Lajong Academy defeated Pune City FC by 2-1 today at the New Wellington Camp in New Delhi. Both teams were unable to find the net after playing 35 minutes of the first half.

It was only in the second half when in form junior Reds striker, Donboklang Lyngdoh headed the ball into the net in the 44th minute of the second half after an assist from teammate, Loya to give his side a 1-0 lead. Lyngdoh has now scored a total of four goals from three matches in the Subroto Cup.

After conceding the goal, the Pune players started to create chances upfront and were pressing forward more frequently. Their efforts were finally rewarded when Buanthanglun, leveled the score in the 60th minute.

The Reds were given a penalty after a foul was committed by a Pune City FC player. Kagaly took the penalty kick from the spot but the Pune keeper saved the shot in the 62nd minute.

The Lajong Juniors continued to work hard in front of goal and were making several good moves as they were very eager to score another goal. After fighting really hard they regained the lead when Parvaj found the net after an assist by Rony in the 68th minute.

Shillong Lajong FC Acdemy boys have won all their three games so far and will take on Delhi Dynamos FC on Saturday. Attached is the team picture from today’s game and the two goal scorers are snapped together, Donbok and Parvaj.
