Tura July 01:The slain cadre has been identified as Bethma Ch Sangma, 29 from the Silkichigrikgittim village under Chokpot police station. The three
ASAK cadres arrested during the operations have been identified as
Arjensing M Marak, 19, Aiwal D Shira, 19 both of Era Aning village,
Nongalbibra in South Garo Hills, and Joshwa B Marak (19) from Rewak
village.
Police recovered one INSAS rifle with a magazine, fourteen 5.56 mm
live ammo, one SBBL gun with 2 SBBL ammo, 1 wireless receiver, one
bundle of ASAK demand notes and 8 numbers of empty detonators.
The operation was led by the SWAT and police teams of South Garo Hills.
The outfit was formed in February this year by cadres of breakaway
faction of the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA), led by Reding T
Sangma, who was the former finance secretary of GNLA.(SP News)
