The BJP will paid tribute to U,Woh Kiang Nang Bah’s statue at Syntu Ksiar Jowai

Shillong, August 13: The BJP Meghalaya is celebrating the 70thIndependence of India from 9th-23rdAugust, 2016. On 9thof August, to mark the occasion “yaad karo kurbani”all the office bearers of state committee inaugurated the celebration by lighting candles followed by discussion on our freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our motherland.

On the 10th, tribute was paid to Pa Togan Nengminza Sangma, in Chisobibra, Tura. Recalling his noble deeds followed by garlanding the statue of Pa Togan Nengminza Sangma, by the State President followed by other leaders of the Party, Nokmas and other dignitaries of the function.

On the 15th, theTiranga yatrawill start from party office, Lachumere, Shillong at 8am via State Central Library to our new office site at Oakland Bivar road. To mark the occasion, every District/Mandal of the party will be hoisting the national flag in their respective office premises.

On the 16th, at Nongkhlaw West Khasi Hills (birth place of U Tirot Sing Syiem) the celebration will begin by flag hoisting and National anthem. This will be followed by khasi patriotic cultural programme. Donor minister from Delhi Sri Jitendra Singh will be addressing the gathering and hand over the synopsis to the families of U Tirot Sing Syiem. He will be paying floral tribute to the statue of U Tirot Sing Syiem.

On the 18th, the State BJP Mahila Morcha will be visiting Indo-Bangla border of Meghalaya for the Raksha Bandhan to our brave soldiers who guard our country 24 X 7.

On the 20thof August, tribute will be paid to U,Woh Kiang Nang Bah’s statue at Syntu Ksiar Jowai. On the 23rd, movies related to India’s freedom struggle will be shown at Khyndai Lad Shillong.
