The BSF seized 5.5 Kg of Ganja from Gumaghat while trying to smuggled to Bangladesh

Shillong, November 27: The BSF troops deployed at Gumaghat, South West Khasi Hills distt of Meghalaya launched a special operation and seized 5.5 Kg of Ganja while it was being smuggled to Bangladesh.

The BSF party observed a suspicious movement, they immediately rushed to the spot however the suspected smuggler fled away taking advantage of dense forest and  thick vegetation.

It is pertinent to mention here that it has always been the endeavour of BSF to keep a strict vigil and deny any smuggling of psychotropic substances, narcotics and alcohol to Bangladesh and in this task BSF is also seeking the help of BGB.

This year BSF has seized 18,618 bottles liquor and 30.2 Kg Ganja at the international border. Seized item handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.
