The Cabinet decided to recommend for Administrator Rule in the GHADC: Conrad

Shillong, Oct 12: Meghalaya Chief Minister Mr Conrad K Sangma inform that the Cabinet in the meeting today has decided to recommend for Administrator Rule in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council for the term not exciding more than six month.

Speaking to the media after the cabinet meeting the Chief Minister Mr Conrad said that this decision will be convey to the Governor for the imposition of the Administrator Rule in the GHADC, the tenure of this present house of the GHADC will expired on Thursday the 15thOctober 2020.

The Chief Minister said that the date for the general election to the GHADC will be decided later, the reason for this postponement due to the COVID-19 this was taken after consultation from the health department so it is not possible to conduct election at this situation.

In the Cabinet they have also taken the decision to constituted the Central Bonded Warehouse, this will enable the state to have one central warehouse by amending  Rule 10 and the taxes for all the bonded ware house will be paid through the CBW and this will plough the leakages in the taxation.

There are 44 bonded warehouse in the entire state of Meghalaya, with the decision taken today the Government has fix the benefit to the bonded ware house at 8% profit which is not there earlier, this also will reduce the burden to the bonded to take the goods from the factory, with this decision now they will take from the CBW according to their requirement.

The Cabinet also today decided to constituted the Meghalaya Energy Efficiency Limited, this was done according to the instruction from the Government of India, with the constitution of this state government will avail 2% benefit of open market loan and on this the government will also constituted the Special Purpose Vehicles to look into it.

The Cabinet also today has taken the decision to reduce the administrative cost for land acquisition on project of both state and central government, for Government project both state and central government the administrative cost will be 2.5% and for private company will be 10%.

The Cabinet also has decided to amendment the State Quest, in this amendment will allowed retired judges and two of his independent to visit Meghalaya House in Kolkata and Delhi, this will also apply to former Governor and former Chief Minister of the state.
