Shillong, July 10: The District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills Dsitrict Smti. R M Kurbah today under section 144 CrPC issued an order,in view of various incidents of violence that took palce in and around Shillong City which had let to many law and order situations particularly during the night.
Where such incidents may cause disturbances pose a threat to daily commuters and endangering the life of the police at large as preventive measure need to be taken to ensure the safety and security of public and to maintain peace and tranquility within the city; District Magistrate , East Khasi Hills District Shillong in exercises power conferred upon me under section 144 CrPC do herby prohibits.
That opening shops, food stalls, Restaurants, Enterprises, in and around Shillong City will be restricted up to 10.00 PM, consumption of intoxicants and engaging in any unlawful activities in the vehicles is prohibited, Blasting of music near educational and religious institutions, hospital beside residential areas are prohibited after 10.00 PM
Any violation of the said order will attract penal provision under section 188 of the IPC, in view of the urgency of the matter, this order is being passed ex-parte and it shall come into force with effect from 12th July 2023 and shall remain until further order said the District Magistrate in the Press statement issued today.
