The death body of truck driver was found by the villagers from Dollongre WGH

Shillong February 16: The death body of the 25 year old truck driver near the village of Dollongre in West Garo Hills has been discovery by the villagers this morning. Mr Ram Nath Rai, who hails from the district of Samastipur in Bihar and lived in the Thakurbari area of Tura.

His body was left near the village by murderer and  the money he had was looted the truck too was driven off the road.  Rai’s body was discovered early this morning after which policemen from the Jengjal outpost, about 14 kms away reached the spot early this morning. A formal inquest was done in the presence of a magistrate from the West  Garo Hills District the body was taken to Tura Civil Hospital for post mortem.
The truck bearing registration RJ- 23GA 4335 belongs to a local businessman was working on contract basis with the Food Corporation of India (FCI) for supplying rice and other commodities to the FCI godowns of Tura and Williamnagar IN EGH.

The truck, which included Rai and the handyman had left last morning for Bongaigaon FCI depot for bringing supply materials to Tura. Rai’s body was later found about 60 kms from Paikan near Dollongre in West Garo Hills with his head completely smashed in. The money he had on him along with the mobile phone have gone missing.

Interestingly, the yet to be indentified handyman, who was allegedly there along with the driver has gone missing ever since the incident. He is suspected to be from the village of Kathalbari near Garobadha in SWGH.
