The DFO stop issuing of challan to export lime stone from East Khasi Hills

Shillong, November 08:  The Division Forest Officer (DFO) of East Khasi Hills District has stop issuing challan for export of lime stone from East Khasi Hills District; this made the exporter in a dilemma what they will do with the remaining Letter of Credit (LC) that they have received from their importer from Bangladesh.

When Contacted the Divisional Forest Officer Dr C. Manjunatha (IFS) he said that they have stop issuing challan because the old stock is no more, from the office they have asked permission from government to reassessed the remaining line stone that is still left in the quarry.

Dr Manjunatha said that once the government give permission they will start the reassessment one they completed then challan will be issued to the people concern that are still having the stock in their quarry. They have already sought the permission from the government, and they are still waiting.

From the quarry owner they have submitted to the DFO East Khasi Hills about their stock that is still lying on their quarry since the month of June this year, that lime stone is still there in   their quarry, since the government is collecting huge amount of Royalty  from this minerals.
