Shillong, March 13: The Meghalaya Editors’ and Publishers’ Association (MEPA) which is the umbrella body of all media houses in Meghalaya held its Annual General Meeting at Shillong Club on March 12, 2022.
The meeting was attended by editors, publishers and producers of newspapers, magazines, news channels and online media from Meghalaya.
The meeting discussed various issues related to media houses in the State, problems faced by media houses in terms of government advertisements and also matters related to the welfare of journalists in the State. The meeting also passed a number of resolutions which shall be taken up by MEPA with the State government.
The meeting also elected the new office bearers of MEPA for the term of 2022-23. R Monarch Shabong was re-elected as the president, Marcus M. Thaiang, Rajib Chaudhury, Raphael Warjri and Russel Nongrum as vice presidents.
Mr. John W. Thabah as general secretary, Andrew W. Lyngdoh and Starfing Pdahkasiej as joint secretaries, Kyrmenlang Uriah as organising secretary and Deimebanda Blah as treasurer.
The executive members include Patricia Mukhim, Deimaia Lang Siangshai, E M Jose, Purbasha Bhattacharjee, Shan Shylla, Apporlet Shabong, Bankerlang Lapang and Bhabok Laloo.
