Shillong, Sept 27: The Minister incharge Education, Mr Lahkmen Rymbui in his reply to the question put by Mr Pius Marwein on the Residential Schools; the Minister said that, there are twenty residential schools that the government has initiated in 2012 with the propose sanction of Rs. 55.91 cores to start the construction of School buildings.
From the propose amount the government has sanction Rs.27.91 cores to start the work construction of the School Building and all the construction work for the academic block started and the present status or work is different from one place to the others.
The Minister inform the house that the concept of having residential school is to bring quality education in the rural areas, but to complete the construction of all the school building the government needs Rs.150 cores.
In his replay to the supplementary question of Mr Himalalaya Shangpliang related to the Residential School at Lawbah the Minister said that he is not aware that the construction work has stop, but physical work progress of this particular residential school ia 30%.
