Shillong, May 18: The Grassroot one of the Non Governmental Organisation organised a public hearing for the 21 villages of Mawryngkneng Block along with Govt Officials of various departments participated at a Public Hearing or a Jan Sanvad that was held at the Block Development Office of Mawryngkneng.
The Jan Sanvad was a discussion and debate on the reports and findings from the 21 villages, 6 Sub Centers and 3 PHC’s under Mawryngkneng that was collected by “Grassroot”, Shillong, under the Community Action for Health, a community centered project under National Health Mission.
The Moderator for the event was Dr. Joy Lyngwa, Jt. DHS (MCH and FW) cum Nodal Officer, Community Process. It was Chaired by Dr. Kharkongor.
The various people present were Dr. Rani, DCHO cum Dist. nodal officer CAH, Dr. Lalrin, State RCH Consultant, Mousumi Roy, Community Mobiliser RRC -NE Shillong, Ms. O. Sumer DHE, Dr. C Budnah MO i.c Diengpasoh PHC, Dr. Kharduid. MO i.c Mawryngkneng PHC, Dr C. Majaw MO i.c Smit PHC. Mr. R. Kharduid BPM, JEs from PHE Hill Division, JE from MePDCL Shillong, DPM from MHIS East Khasi Hills, Annie Suchiang – State ASHA and Community Process Manager, Dakaru Passah ,State Program.
Executive CAH, Sukani Pariat, State Comfy Process Coordinator, H. Jungai Program Assistant, Mr. A Sharma, Karuna Trust, Dr. Sudarshan, Ministy of health and family welfare, also present were DPO ICDS Mawryngkneng, Lady supervisors of Mawryngkneng block, Headman of Smit Pyllun, Mawryngkneng Pyllun, Headman of the 21 villages, ASHAs, AWWs and the community people.
Themes addressed were maternal health, ASHA Support Services, Adolescent Health Services, General health in the village, Child Health, other schemes and services such as ICDS Services, Mid-day Meal, RBSK, JSY, JSSK, MMBS, MHIS etc. Conditions of infrastructure and services in Such Centers and PHCs.
