Tura, May 12: As the pressure continuously mounting over the insurgent groups after the relentless operation against them by the Security Forces, one hardcore GNLA cadre came forward to join the main stream. A trained cadre of GNLA surrendered before BSF in presence of Sh Sankatha Prasad, Commandant 20 Bn BSF at Tura on Friday afternoon.
The surrendered militant namely Marus Ch. Sangma 26 years Alias Dotling Alias Rajesh resident of Telekhali village under Gasuapara, Police station Baghmara, South Garo Hills District Meghalaya. Mr Sangma confessed to had joined ANVC-B in the year 2012, and underwent 03 months rigorous training at the Bolsura in Bangladesh in 6th batch of ANVC-B.
During the training, he learnt handling of various weapons like Carbine, AK Series and Pistol and explosives. The schedule of training programme comprised of physical activity, weapon training, tactics, basic drill and most importantly guerilla warfare also.
After the complete surrender and disbandment of ANVC-B on 15th December 2014, he met a hardcore GNLA cadre namely Bade Ch Marark, Jakchu who encouraged him to Join GNLA. After joining the GNLA outfit in the month of March 2015, he actively worked as private soldier of GNLA outfit for the past three years .
He is closely associated with hard core GNLA cadres namely Bade Ch Marark, Jakchu and Kartush. He regularly worked for GNLA outfit as Arms courier and guide for infiltration and ex-filtration into Bangladesh. Further revealed that he received arms consignment, accessories and camouflaged dress from Bangladeshi national Dipon R Marak and Philip and delivered the consignments to GNLA cadres in forested areas of villages Telikhali and Jankhol in South Garo Hill District.
Marus Ch. Sangma has also been closely associated with notorious trans-border criminals namely Rupon Khagra , Bheash Ch Sangma, Nirmal R Marak , Sanjay Sangma , Nilsang D Sangma and Phisto Sangma. These trans-border criminals have been involved in various criminal activities like kidnapping of businessmen and various passengers playing between Baghmara to Dalu on NH-62 in South Garo Hills District. He had a close nexus and was hand in gloves with the these notorious Bangladeshi criminals, who had formed an outfit named Special Bangla Tiger Force. These criminals are and were involved in killing of many innocent civilians in Bangladesh.
A surrender ceremony was organized at Dobasipara SHQ BSF Tura. After sustained efforts of Field Intelligence Team of BSF at Tura which motivated him to joint main stream. The BSF has been putting sincere efforts to bring the misguided youths of Garo Hills to shun vigilance.
