Shillong, July 11: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the four villages, Nonghyllam, Umsur, NOngjri and kulang of South West Khasi Hills District will hold a public rally on the 14th July 2017, that is on Friday being the market day of Nongjri to protest against the kidnaper, who has kidnapped Mr Ricky Marwein from Umsur village.
The Chairman of the JAC, Mr Nassar Marwein said that the rally will start from Nonghyllam at 10.00 Am in the morning and it will culminate at Nongjri Village being a market day and their they will hold public meeting to condemn the incident. In this public rally the JAC will decide the future course of action in order to bring normalcy in the area.
The JAC has urged the people of these four villages to come out on that day so that to participate in this rally. In the last two month two people were kidnapped from the area by the Bangladeshi national. On the 8th July 2017, the Bangladeshi national has kidnapped Mr Ricky Marwein from his residenc form Umsur Village.
On the 28th April 2017, the Khasi Student Union has held a public rally in the same area in protest aginst the kidnaper who has kidnapped Mr Dajied Syiem where he went there as a labourer. Mr Dajied was kidnapped by the Bangladeshi national where he was rescued by the Bangladesh Border Guard.
