Shillong, July 26: Legal Affair Secretary, James H Mawphniang of the Khasi Student,s Union (KSU) today lodge First Information Report against the Legal Right Observatory (LRO) with the Superintendent of Police Shillong City.
In the FIR they have mention that on the 24th July, 2023, there was an incident at Mahadev Khola, Shillong where there was a minor scuffle between the two parties. The incident had no connection with the Khasi Students’ Union nor in any manner had its member involved in it.
But from a Tweet from the account @LegalLRO, they mention that the Union was involved in assaulting priests, devotees and others individuals and also accused the Presbyterian church of hate mongering.
Such tweets and post are being circulated in social media which is totally wrong and misrepresenting. Through such tweets, the object of the twitter account and the person handling the account is only to disrupt the religious harmony and to instigate communal violence between communities.
The KSU urged the authorities to take necessary actions against; such perpetrator who incite religious and communal tension between different communities. The twitter account @LegalLRO who spread hate mongering and false information to the public such account be suspended and deleted and defaming the Khasi Students’ Union for the instance case.
