The NESO submit eight point chatter of demands to PM, Modi

Shillong, June 05: The North East Student Organization (NESO) submitted eight point chatters of demand to the prime minister of India Mr Narendra Modi, the Memorandum submitted through the Governor of Meghalaya V.  Shanmuganathan,on the 4th of this month.

The eight point chatters of demand put forwards by the NESO to the government of India are, educational Policy and Human Recourse development, repeal of impunitive legislations  and expedite the ongoing peace process for an early negotiated settlement, to check on infiltration of illegal migrants, refugees for a comprehensive mechanism.

On the economic part the organization said that the region need infrastructural development, in compliance to the Act East Policy of the central government, the government should have an employment policy for the North East.

With the Indo-Bangla land swap deal 2011 that come into force, the central government should set up one visa and regional passport office in the region, the NESO wants that the central government should settle the interstate boundary problems in the region.

The NESO for the first time they have come up with the demand that the central government should grant special constitutional status to the North East   and have a separate time zone for the region. The memorandum was sign by the Chairman of NESO Samuel B Jyrwa and the General Secretary Sinam Prakash Singh.
