SHILLONG, July 12: The Nationalist Peoples Party (NPP) national president Mr Conrad K Sangma who is also an MP from Tura, he said that the party is open to the idea of a Pre-poll Alliance with other political parties in the state for the coming general election in the Assembly in 2018.
While addressing media person after the State Executive committee meeting , said that the party will have the state Executive Council meeting later in the month of October or November to elect the three officer bearers, The president of the state party, the General Secretary and the Treasurer.
The party will also gear up for the general election 2018 by organizing the party at the grassroots level, According to him, the party is gaining more strength with the entry of F.A Momin, former Congress MLA who is also former cabinet minister in the Congress government.
As part of the preparations for the assembly election, the NPP, MP from Tura Parliamentary Constituency informed that the party will soon constitute the Vision Document Committee.He further informed that the party will be taking part in the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) meeting on Wednesday organized by the party BJP at Guwahati.
The meeting will be attended by NPP MLAs, CEM, Chairman and MDCs of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council. He said the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council has decided to construct a Cultural Centre and Museum to uplift the traditional customs and traditions of the Garo people.
