The PADCO study team from Japan met SPB Chairman, will submit report with six month

Shillong, April 24: The seven members of the PADCO Study team from Japan under the leadership of Mr Chikai Kaurina Ma today met the Chairman of the Meghalaya State Planning Board Chairman Mr Lambor Malngniang along with the officer from, Education Department, PWD Department and Health department.

Speaking to media after the meeting with the delegation from Japan sent by the company, Japan’s International Cooperation Agency (JICA) the Chairman of the State Planning Board Mr Malngiang said that, in the meeting they were discussing on the three sectors, Road, Health and Education, where Meghalaya need support in infrastructure.

Mr Chikai Kaurina Ma clearly stated that, the PADCO study team from Japan was sent by the company, Japan’s International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to make the study in five states in the North East that is Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Miziram and Tripura, while Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur were not given due to security reason.

Mr Chikai Kaurina Ma said that the study to these five states will be submitted to JICA with a period of six month from today. In the meeting it was also discussed if the PADCO could undertake the study on haw to ease congestion in Shillong City.

The team will again visit the state on the month of June and July before they submit the report on the month of September this year. The final decision on the project propose by the state will be decided by JICA, the Government of India and the state government for funding the peoject.
