The police trainer from NEPA recvied Union Home Minister Award

Shillong, July 29: The Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, has instituted a scheme for award of Medals “Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Police Training” to the trainers and other support staff working in Police Training Institutions of State and Central Police Forces. Mr Ramesh Chandra, Assistant Director and Mr P C Gayari, Constable , of North Eastern Police Academy, Umsaw, Meghalaya, have been declared as winners of the most prestigious Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Police Training, for indoor and outdoor category. Along with the Medal, a scroll and cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- will be awarded to the winners of the medal. Mr Ramesh Chandra, an inhabitant of Kokandai Village of Garhwal District, Uttarakhand, joined North Eastern Police Academy on 16th November 1984 as Hindi Instructor initially. He earned his well deserving promotion as Hindi Officer on 01/06/1998 and is presently holding the rank of Assistant Director (OL). He has been an excellent trainer and a capable officer in dealing with training and administrative matters. For his commitment and dedication, Shri Ramesh Chandra has received many rewards and commendations in his service period. Mr P C Gayari, a resident of Bartari Village, Barpeta District, Assam, joined North Eastern Police Academy on 16th July 1990 as Constable (GD). He underwent the rigorous basic training at RTC II, CRPF, Avadi, Chennai. He has also undergone Un-armed Combat Course CTC-I, CRPF, Neemuch and Rock Climbing Course at ITBP Academy, Mussoori. Considering his exceptional skills and potential, he is engaged as an Outdoor Trainer and he is holding the honorary rank of Head Constable. Shri Gayari received many rewards and commendations in his service period for his hard work and devotion to duty.
