The RBTEDF will hold the Native Fiesta in the month of March at Umiam

Shillong, December 06: The Chairman of the Ri-Bhoi Tourism and Environment Development Forum   (RBTEDF) Mr Plielad Tiewsoh said that the Association has decided to hold a two day Native Fiesta on the month of March in Ri Bhoi District as to promote tourism in the state in general and in the District of Ri Bhoi Particular.

The Chairman Mr Tiewsoh explain that in this two day extravaganza, all the traditional items of the Khasi Garos and Jaintia will be display along with many mores ethnic food from the state of Meghalaya. And on these two days the organization will also select best singer and they will be awarded.

The expenditure for the two day festival the organization has projected that their cost will be between fifty lakhs, the main promoters will be the ministry of Tribal Affair, North Eastern Council and they will also seek the help from the state government.

To sale Meghalaya to the rest of the world the organization is planning to advertise this programme in part of the country mainly on the metropolitan city to woe tourist from outside the state to come to Meghalaya.

When asked about the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on the tourism sector in the state the organization they are skeptical about it.
