The RCOC Shillong donate Ambulance to Good shepherd Jongsha Dispensary

Shillong, June 30: The The Rotary Club Orchid City Shillong, donated one ambulance to the Good Shepherd Dispensary at Jongsha Village in East Khasi Hills District, apart from this they also donate bed, matters, chairs to this dispensary run by the holy cross congregation.

The Assistant Governor of the Rotary Club Orchid City Shillong, Mr Barnabas Nongbah while speaking on the gathering said that this small helping hand of the Club will help the people of the area who are in need of medical assistance. This dispensary is rendering services to more than 48 villages around Jongsha village covering the approximate population of 38 thousand.

The Rotary Club since 2007 has come to know that this area needs medical help, as the club who is working for the welfare of the rural people has take this decision to assist this jongsha Dispensary   run by the missionary. He hope that this Ambulance will be of great help to the people who are residing in and around jongsha.

The medical health officer of Jongsha Public Health Centre (PHC) in her speech she said that many of the people in this area are not coming forth to come to the Health centre for medical treatment that was provided by the government. From the PHC  use to organized health programme from time to time to make  the people aware that they ever they get sick they should come to hospital for treatment.

Mr Barnabas Nongbah also unveil the foundation stone o the rotary club. Others who were present were the village elders and members of the Club.
