Shillong, June 13: The Health Minister Mr A L Hek in his reply to the question asked by James K Sangma NPP on the status of Medical College, The minister said that the estimate cost for the Shillong Medical College will be approximately Rs. 250 Cores.
The College will be run Under the PPP arrangement with the KPC medical College Hospital, Jadavpur, Kolkatta. The agreement has been sign between the Government of Meghalaya and the KPC for setting up the college at the Reid Chest Hospital, Shillong.
The prject has not been started since the Government has not hand over the place to the KPC, the delay is because the new TB Hospital at Umsawli in still under construction.
While answering to supplementary question about the criminal back ground of the KPC, the Minister said that the government is not aware, when the MLA James asked weather the government will inquired about it, the minister said will look into it. (SP News)
