The Shillong Press Club wishes to thank the Government of Meghalaya under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma for appreciating the needs and aspirations of the journalist fraternity of the State who continue to selflessly discharge their professional duties amidst many constraints.
The Constitution of a Meghalaya Media Society to look into the welfare of working journalists of the State as well as a scheme to provide accommodation facility to senior accredited journalists of the State as announced by Dr. Sangma in his Budget address today is greatly appreciated and warmly welcomed.
The Shillong Press Club which over the years has been humbly endeavouring to ensure better working conditions and other facilities for all its members also places on record its thankfulness for the Government’s active support by allotting a permanent facility to the Shillong Press Club and other media associations in the DIPR complex set to be completed next year.
The Shillong Press Club also wishes to thank all its members for actively supporting the cause of the working journalist of the State and especially the Directorate of Information & Public Relations for continuously extending all possible support on numerous occasions despite many constraints.
