Shillong, August 24: Meghalaya Health Minister Mr AL Hek informed that there 59 people who were tested COVID-19 positive in the state of Meghalaya today, out of this, 55 are in East Khasi Hills, 9 from the arms forces and 46 from the public and our 4 are from Ri Bhoi District.
Thus publice who were tested COVID-19 positive today are, 29 from the high risk contact, 1 from the IPD from Nazareth Hospital Shillong and five are the staff nurse of the Hospital, The others are from the random testing carried out in Khyndailad, Motphran, Anjalee and Khlieh Iewduh.
The total active case in the state are 1179, Active cases in the District wise, East Khasi Hills 769, West Khasi Hills 43, South West Khasi hills 1, Ri Bhoi 98, West Jaintia Hills 2, East Jaitia Hills 12, West Garo Hills 223, South West Garo Hills 4, South garo Hills 12, East Garo Hills 3 and North Garo Hills 12.
The total number of person who have recovered are, 789, the new cases who recovered today are 13, West Jaintia Hills 1, West Khasi hills 1, East Jaintia Hills 2 and East Khasi Hills 9 and the number of death due to COVID-19 all together are 8.
