There is no fund shortage to help affected families cause by natural calamities: Dr Mukul

Shillong, May 11: The Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma said that there is no shortage of fund to help affected families due to natural calamities. The delay in giving assistance is due to certain changes in the norms frame by the government.

In the previous year relief material were purchase and hand over to the affected family, but at present the assistance to thus families were directly transfer to their bank account, this take time in the procedure but to say their fund shortage is not at all true.

In the event of any natural calamities take place in any part of the District with the state, the officer concern has to file a fire sent to the state government and to the government of India, after completing all the procedure the respective Deputy Commissioner released the money to the bank account of the beneficiaries.

The chief minister made it clear that the found earmark for relief and rehabilitation to people who were affected in the natural calamities cannot be use for others purpose, it will be used only for assistance to affected families cause due to  natural disaster.
