Shillong, September 02: The central trade union (CTU) today has call all India strike in the country to protest against the central government for its refusal to have a dialogue with the trade union on the twelve point charters of demand that they have before the central government.
In Meghalaya thousands of laboures today participate in the rally to joint hand with the rest of the trade union in the country. The main demand of the trade union that, their wages should be raised to Rs.18,000 per month, and the retired benfit should be Rs.3000 pernonth.
The general secretary of the All India Trade Union Congress, Smti Vijaya Lakshmi, told the media after the rally the central government is not ready to listen to the grievances of the common people by refusing to have the dialogue with the trade union.
The demand of the trade union is also concerning the need for the implementation of the Universal Food Security for all in the country. The central government should stop Foreign Direct Investment in the union public sectors.
