Shillong, June 17: The superintendent of police Ri Bhoi District Mr Ramesh Singh said that a landslide has occurred in the place Tharia under the Industrial area at Barapani, in this incident three person died and two were missing the rescue operation is on to trace the missing person.
The landslide occurred due to the incessant rain that taken place in the last 24 hours, and the place where this landslide occurred in the land occupied by the Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) in the Industrial Estate.
The Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi District told SP News Agency that he is awaiting the official report on the particular incident. Un confirm sources said that person who died in this tragic incident are labourers who are working in the Industrial estate.
