Shillong, April 12: Tornado Cricket Club defeated 1st MLP by 10 runs in the finals of SCA Second Division Cricket League organised by the Shillong Cricket Association at the Cricket Ground, Polo.
Choosing to bat first after winning the toss Tornado were all out for 115 runs in 19.3 overs. Pawan Chettri scored 28 runs of 24 balls. While Royal Marwein took 4/15 runs of 4 overs. In reply 1st MLP could only scored 105 losing 8 wickets in all 20 overs. Roof Raja scored 23 runs of 25 balls. While Debashish took 2/20 runs of 4 overs. Both teams have , however, qualified for the next season’s First Division Shillong League.
The Man of the Match is awarded to Royal Marwein of 1st MLP and Man of the Tournament gose to Joy Sorkar of Tornado CC.
The prizes and trophies were given away by Shri N.Bhattacharjee, General Secretary MCA, Gideon Kharkongor General Secretary SCA among others.(SP News)
