Weapons acquired by militant are not manufacture in North East: Dr Mukul

Shillong, June 06: The Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma in his replay to the debate on the floor of the house of the adjournment motion brought by the opposition said that Weapons acquired by militant are not manufactures in the North East.

To tackle militancy in the state, it’s required the coordination among all the North Eastern State in the region and with the support from the Government of India. The militant in Meghalaya was assisted by the dreaded militant from others like the NDFB and the ULFA.

These militants groups from others state has used Garo Hills as their Corridor, and the members of  the militant groups in Garo Hills have got their members not only from Garo hills but they have their members from Assam and Bangladesh.

On their demand for the president rule in the state the Chief Minister Dr Sangma said that, this is against the federal structure, when you cannot topple the government thety asked for president rule.

From the militants activities that infested in Garo Hills the Chief Minister claims that “the most suffer is my people and the party workers as abduction is selective”, he even said that he was branded as the chairman of all militant groups in Garo Hills.

The Chief Minister said that to solve these militancy activities in Garo Hills it needs    malty  prong approached, the government is trying it all level best to curtail the militant activities with is limited man power.

The chief Minister claim that in spite of the militant activities development has also taken plaice in and East Garo hills has got the awards in the total sanitation campaign, road has been constructed and the government will take all step to developed the state.(SP News)
