Shillong, May 28: Mr Shanbor Shullai MLA from 19-Shilong South Constituency today sent letter to Smti Nirmala Sitharaman Union Defence Minister to thank the central government for opening of entry and exit gates under Defence Areas.
In the letter sent to the Union Minister Mr Sanbor said that on behalf of all the people of Shillong City in particular and our state Meghalaya as a whole, would like to thank you with all our hearts for having considered one of our request for opening again of all the entry and exits gates closed down a few years back by the Defence Authority for use by the general public as per the memorandum submitted during a meeting held on the 15th February 2018 on your visit to CERA office, Jhalupara, Shillong.
Apart from the undersigned all the people of 19 South Shillong Legislative Assembly Constituency, The Shillong Cantonment Area Development Committee and the residents of Shillong city and Meghalaya as a whole salutes you for this early and timely decision which will ease the communication between the adjoining areas for all the people living around these places.
In the letter Mr Sanbor said that He(Sanbor) is looking forward to meet the Union Minister soon to discuss relating to the other matters concerning the civilians living within the Shillong Cantonment area as per the memorandum submitted to you on the 15th February 2018 at Jhalupara, Shillong.
