Polling date for Meghalaya, MP election to Lok Sabha will be held on 11 April 2019

Shillong, March 10: The Chief Electoral Officer of Meghalaya Mr Fredric Roy Kharkongor, said that as per schedule announced by the Election Commission of India, the polling date for Meghalaya will be on the first phase of this MP election to the Lok Sabha.

The official notification will be issued by the commission on the 18th March 2019 and the last date of filling nomination will be on the 25th March and the scrutiny will be held on the 26th march and the polling date will be on 11th April 2019. For both 1-Shillong and 2-Tura   parliamentary Constituency, counting will be on the 23th May 2019.

The CEO inform that the special enrollment drive will continued till  the last day of filling nomination that is the 25th March 2019. The total voters in the state in this 2019 MP election are 1892616 all together and there are 3617 polling satiations in the state.

On the security scenario the ADGP Mr H Nongpluh who is also present in the press briefing said that the overall law and   in the state is peaceful but  forces that the state have is not sufficient the department has written to the Ministry Home Affair to provide additional forces to assist the state in this upcoming MP election.
