Shillong, September 29: The eight teams to have outmatched their rivals and thereby qualify for the quarterfinal stage of the 1st Open Futsal Tournament were announced at the end of the second day’s action at the Indoor Stadium at the JN Sports Complex here today.
Emerald FC, Gunners FC, Shillong Press Club, Touchline Coaches NE, Sweat Out Glory In, Anthonians, Danois United and Touchline Coaches came through their respective groups in first place to earn a berth in the last-eight stage of the three-day tournament, which is organised by the Futsal Association of Meghalaya (FAM) with support from the Futsal Association of India and District Sports Promotion Society, East Khasi Hills.
Each half in the quarterfinal fixtures will be played over 15 minutes, while the semifinals and final will be played over 20 minutes a half. The quarterfinals start from 9:00am tomorrow. The semifinal round will begin at 1:00pm and the grand final at 3:30pm.
