There 2100 migrants labourers in Meghalaya staying in different 25 relief camps in the state

Shillong, April 09: The Goverment of Meghalaya has set up 25 camps in different parts of the state, where 2100 migrants labourers were kept in thus camps this was inform by the Deputy Chief Minister today.

The Deputy Chief Minister, inform that in East Khasi Hills District there are 7 camps, West Jaintia Hills District 1, East Jiantia Hills District 3, South West Khasi Hills District 1, East Garo Hills District 1, North Garo Hills District 2, Ri Bhoi District 2, and West Garo Hills District 8.

Deputy Chief Minister Mr Prestone said that, the Government is providing them foods and medical attendance to check about their health while they were on the camps.

The government has already released Rs.1000/- to the accounts of 22826 labourers who has register with the  Labour department, the remaining amount Rs.2000/- will be credited to there account before 11th April 2020. The effective date for this assistance start from 23th March 2020 to 14th April 2020.
