The BSF arrested five Bangladesh from Gumaghat in search of work in the coal quarry in SWKH

Shillong, October 22: The BSF troops deployed at Gumaghat, South West Khasi Hills district apprehended five  Bangladeshi nationals while they were infiltrating into Indian territory through Jadukatta river. They were identified as  Gopal Marak, Piliban Sangma, Tanay Marak, Nirupi Sangma, and Milition Sangma. All these Bangladeshi nationals are resident of  Aanandpur village of Sunamganj District, Bangladesh.

During questioning, Tanay Marak, Nirupi Sangma and Milition Sangma revealed that Gopal Marak and Piliban Sangma has motivated them for labour work at Rajaju Coal quarry and crossing the border. Later it was confirmed that duo are touts and assist the Bangladeshi nationals in crossing the border for labour work in quarries.

It was also known that Gopal Marak had worked at 4 Basti at Barsora coal quarry last 03 months ago and Piliban Sangma 2 years ago. Nirupi Sangma has worked as labour 10 months ago at Rajaju coal quarry in South West Khasi Hills District. Remaining two were intruding into Indian territory for the first time.

Mobile phones with Bangladeshi SIM, personal belonging and Indian currency were also recovered from their possession. All the apprehended persons and seized items handed over to the concern department for further legal action.
