With an aim to lend a helping hands to the people especially those from the low economic background, the Meghalaya Youth Foundation in collaboration with Mission Trust, Bawri Netharalaya, Shillong conducted a “Free Eye Check-Up Camp” at Kynton-U-Mon, Nongkrem, East Khasi Hills District recently.
A total of about 120 people from Kynton-U-Mon, Laitkor and Nongkrem were the beneficiaries of the Camp. Out of which, some beneficiaries were given free spectacles, some were referred for further Eye edical assistance and some were even referred for Free Eye Surgery.
Those present at the Camp included the Chairman of the Meghalaya Youth Foundation, Joannes JTL Lamare, who is also the Secretary of the Dorbar Shnong Kynton-U-Mon, Nongkrem, who initiated the conduct of the Camp at the Village; MYF Adviser, S. Loniac Marbaniang, who had been assisting the various social projects of MYF in various parts of the State since its formation about a year ago; Doctors and attendants of Bawri Nethralaya; The Members of MYF from Laitkor, Nongkrem and Madanrting; The Rangbah Shnong and Members of the Dorbar Shnong; besides others.(SP News)
