Shillong, January 20: Two people sustained injury in an accident that happened today morning at around 11.30 AM. This accident happened in Shillong By Pass at Thangshalai village in East Khasi Hills District, when one bike which was on the way to Jowai from Guwahati skid and roll over leaving both the rider and the pillion rider severely injured.
Both the victims are from Guwahati, Assam and they are identified as Trishnashree Das 23 Years Female and Nilutpal Debnath 23 Years Male. The 108 emergency service were immediately alerted and the Mawryngkneng based 108 ambulance were dispatched and helped in shifting both the victims to Mawryngkneng PHC where they were further transported for better treatment to Shillong Civil Hospital.
In another case of road traffic accident, Elegant Kharmuti 50 Years Male sustained minor injuries when the vehicle that he was travelling in met with an accident. This accident happened today at around 3.30 PM when one Wagon R which was on the way to Shillong from Byrnihat, skid and hit the road divider in Umnget Village, Ri Bhoi Districts. In this incident, Elegant Kharmuti sustained multiple minor injuries and he was shifted for treatment to Umsning CHC by Umsning based 108 ambulance.
In an accident that happened in South Garo Hills district one pedestrian was hit by coal loaded running truck. This accident happen in Batabari village 10 Kms away from Gasupara in South Garo Hills District. In this incident Pornima Banai 60 Years Female was severely injured and she was shifted to Dalu CHC by a Gasupara 108 based ambulance.
