BSF confiscate 30 packet neogel explosive from Bholaganj

Shillong, June 30: BSF seized explosive at the border. Keeping in view the changing insurgency scenario in Meghalaya state BSF has enhanced its vigil at the border in Meghalaya. In an incident, BSF made a seizure of 30 Pkts of Neogel explosive (class-II) from the Bholaganj near the International boundary on Wednesday night. On observing some suspected movement, BSF troops challenged a person carrying a bag on his back.

The suspected miscreant ran towards vegetated area taking advantage of darkness and managed to flee leaving behind the bag. BSF seized the bag and after search the explosive was recovered. This explosive has been manufactured in SBL energy Ltd., Yenvera, Distt-Nagpur, Maharashtra (India). Though such explosive being used in mining purpose in Meghalaya but after its pilferage can be potential threat to security forces if reaches in the hand of insurgent groups.

The BSF troops of BOP Lyngkhat deployed in East Khasi Hills Distt , on a tip off seized 33 nos of cattle from the bordering area within last two days. The cattle were being smuggled to Bangladesh. Smugglers have been using various tactics to smuggle cattle to Bangladesh. It is evident that due to the forthcoming festival of IdUl- Fiter, the demand of cattle has increased manifold in the Bangladesh. Keeping in view of the likely increase, BSF has launched a special drive against the Cattle smugglers. All the seized items were handed over to the concerned department for legal action.
