BSF confiscated 23 at Shella, Smuggling of cattle to Bangladesh continued

Shillong October 22: In an another incident BSF troops deployed at Shella, East Khasi Hills Distt and Gopinathkilla, South West Garo Hills District of Meghalaya, confiscated 23 cattle being smuggled to  Bangladesh. A BSF Special patrolling and ambush party while dominating the area observed a suspicious movement of few persons along with cattle.

The BSF troops rushed towards the suspected area before the smugglers could succeed in their nefarious activity and recovered a considerable numbers of cattle. However the suspected miscreants fled by taking advantage of dense forest of  thick vegetation.

During last two weeks BSF troops have prevented 302 cattle being smuggled to Bangladesh from various parts of Meghalaya –Bangladesh border. All the seized cattle handed over to concern department for further legal action.
