Shillong, September 29: The final match of 1st Sniawbhalang Dhar Football Tournament between Wahia Jer FC and Ummulong FC at Wahia Jer was attended by Chief Minister, Dr Mukul M Sangma.
Gracing the match as the Chief Guest, Dr Mukul M Sangma while congratulating the organizers of the tournament said that the wonderful initiative will provide the right platform to nurture the best talents of the region. Stating that in a nation of 1.4 billion population the country still does not have a team at the Football World Cup.
He said such tournaments would help to identify and train potential talents for a football team for the nation. He informed that this dream of having a national football team can be realized through the Mission Football an initiative of the state government that will provide the right kind of environment to promote in the state.
Several Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, MDCs and MLAs were also present for the final match of the tournament.
