Amapati,may 2: A two day District Level Science and Environmental Fair 2016 was organized by the South West Garo Hills district administration in collaboration with Babelepara higher secondary school at its school premises at Purakhasia on April 29th and 30th last. The main objective of the programme was to encourage, motivate and create awareness on the importance of science and environmental education at the school level.
The fair attended by senior citizens, parents and participated by students from various schools including secondary and upper primary schools showcased their talents, skills and interests through a myriad of activities. Earth day was also observed during the programme wherein tree saplings were planted throughout the school compound by guests, invitees and participants.
South west Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh attended the gathering as the Chief, Amongst others who attended the gathering were the South West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police, Purakhasia Parish Father and two junior Researchers from NEHU.
