Shillong, May 01: The Faith Foundation is an NGO registered under the Meghalaya Societies Registration Act XII of 1983 (No E.16/5 of 2013/24). Faith Foundation works to empower children especially girls in schools, child care institutions and communities with Life Skills Education to reduce their risk and vulnerability to different forms of abuse and exploitation.
Faith Foundation works on the prevention of child sexual abuse through its life skills module the Personal Safety Education Program since the year 2013. The PSEP is a school based curriculum that empowers children to participate in their own protection. While working with children Faith Foundation also reaches out to parents, teachers, community members and other stakeholders through awareness and sensitization programs.
This year 2018 – 2019, the organisation is piloting this program in selected government schools in Shillong in collaboration with the Department of Education and Literacy SSA/RMSA. On the 2nd of May 2018, the organization is organizing a program to introduce the PSEP to the Principals of schools and other stakeholders at Bethany Society from 10 am in the morning.
