Nongstoin, April 27: Vice President Judo Federation & National Kickboxing Federation of India along With Dr Fenella L Nonglait In Nongstoin Immediately after conducting successfully Free Demonstration cum Coaching Camp in judo in Nongstoin recently under the supervision the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Meghalaya along with District Sports Officer Nongstoin and Meghalaya Judo Association, Larry P Warjri, Vice President Judo Federation of India (JFI) along with Shri Donny Ranee Vice President National Kickboxing Federation of India (NKFI), Bah Boney Kharbani President West Khasi Hills Judo Association (WKHJA), Balamphang Kharkongor, Senior Judokas and Dr Fenella L Nonglait habe a chance to interact with the judokas in Nongstoin last Friday the 25th April 2014. Orientation on the scope and benefits that can be derived from sports like martial arts like judo, Wushu, jeet kune-do, kickboxing and muaythai respectively is to help making ones disciplined, sturdy, healthy, strong and sportive.
It was highlighted that Sports like martial arts, etc is an agenda for employment generation or as an optional career in police and armed forces with regards to unarmed combat and idea of self defense. It was told that ones can opt for higher studies as there is a sports quota for admission in education.
Dr Fenella Lyngdoh Nonglait also highlighted that soon all martial arts athletes will be oriented with Para-Legal Training in respect of GK and application of laws with regards to Criminal Code and Proceedings and on how to file a strong fir in case of child rights abuse, crimes against women. A campaign will be launched that besides martial arts as self defense in nature, ones especially woman and child will be encouraged to break their silence now and fight for their right as per existing laws and rights of women, child respectively. If Mary Komp can fight and protect herself, why not we also, narrated Fenella L Nonglait, especially when the law is there to protect us and punish the guilty.(SP News)
