Shillong, August 06: Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), a National Institute of Department of Biotechnology , Govt of India, will be organising a 2 -days National Stakeholders’ Meet on ‘Conservation and Sustainable Development of Northeast Himalayan Region’ at IBSD, Imphal on August 18-19, 2016.
the main objective of the meet is to discuss specific issues related to northeast Himalayan ecology, to review resource status of forest, water, soil, agriculture, horticulture, community participation, current livelihood practices, scope of ecological entrepreneurship which will ultimately lead to strengthen bioeconomy and lead to sustainable development.
Director IBSD invites all the top functionaries of different NGOs, civil society organisations and eminent persons to prepare an action plan for implementation at the grassroots level. Experts and heads of various prominent NGOs from different parts of India have confirmed their participation in the meet. Interested NGOs and individuals may contact the IBSD Director.
