Shillong, August 23: The Joint Action Committee Teachers Association of Meghalaya (JACATAM) today officially received an invitation letter from the Director of School Education Literacy (DSEL) that the meeting will be held at the level of the Chief Secretary government of Meghalaya, for talk on their issued raise by the teacher who were teaching in the adhoc and deficit school in the state.
Speaking to SP News Agency, the Chairman of the JACATAM, Mr ED Nongsiang confirm that “Yes they have received the invitation letter from the education department, for talk with the Chief Secretary”. He said that they have accepted the invitation.
He further said that, they will not with draw the strike, they will meet the chief secretary first and see what will be the outcome from the discussion, and then they will decide whether they are going to withdraw or to continue with the agitation.
In this two day strike, most of the school in the state has been adversely affected the student community. Many students who were going to school just to get their attendance is the school authority were willing to take attendance.
