Keep broomstick be in the 0% GST category ,Mr Conrad write to Arun Jaitley

Shillong, November 29: Mr Conrad K Sangma MP Lok Sabha from Tura has written a letter to Hon’ble Finance Minister Government of India Mr Arun Jaitley, to maintain status quo and keep broomstick in the 0% GST category.

There is a move by certain groups to try and include broomstick in a higher tax category which would seriously effect the industry and would lead to huge economic loss for the local people and loss of employment also.

In the letter to the finance minister Mr Sangma clearly indicate that certain group from the plastic lobby they were trying to classified as branded and unbranded trying to put branded broomstick into higher tax schedule of the GST.

The MP from Tura also try to make the union finance minister to understand that broomstick is a natural grass grow mainly in the, state of Assam, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Ngalaland and Arunachal Pradesh in the North Eastern State.

This broomstick is use for cleaning the houses, if the  government  kept in the higher side of the schedule in the GST, this will affect the farmers of the north Eastern Region whose lively hood  deppen on the cultivation of broomstick.
