Shillong, July 31: To follow up the demand of the Association and to remind the State Government to release the salary and Arrears to 12481 SSA Teachers in the State, the Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) Central Body called on the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on lat Tuesday that is on July 24 at his office.
Mr Aristotle C Rymbai President of MSSASA Central Body inform, during the meeting the Association apprised the Chief Minister of the hardships which the SSA Teachers facing due to non payment of their Salary which the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma apprised that the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) had committed to released the funds of 1st Installment to Meghalaya for payment of SSA Teachers salary of current academic year in the next few weeks within 2nd week of August 2018.
“Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma also contact the Jt. Secretary of MHRD in our presence and requested MHRD to expedite the matter at the earliest possibility, he (Conrad) had assured the Association to release the same for disbursement to Teachers without any further delay after the State Government receive the funds from MHRD” Rymbai said on the statement issued here today.
The Chief Minister also apprised the delegation of MSSASA Central Body that payment of eight months pending Arrears salary of financial year 2016-17 to 12481 SSA Teachers in the State is one of the top priority of the MDA Government, and he had taken initiative from his end since day 1 he take charge as the Chief Minister and had also discussed the matter with Finance Minister Govt of India and Officials of MHRD and continued to keep the Ministry apprised on the matter.
Mr Conrad also apprised the commitment made by the MDA Government recently for clearing the five months Salary of last financial 2017-18 to SSA Teachers for the month of Nov 2017 to March 2018 amounting Rs. 13526.50 lakh which is one of big the challenges to the Govt which the former Government had failed to address during its tenure. Meanwhile Conrad informed payment of Arrears Salary can’t be done at present as there were some necessary requirements need to be done and it will take some more times.
Mr Conrad K Sangma also informed the delegation that payment of SSA teachers Arrears Salary of financial year 2016-17 is in record of the State Government which he have also shared the commitment of the MDA Govt on this issue in the August House during the last Assembly Budget Session and had assured the Association to clear the Arrears Salary when all the work is done.
It may be mention here, recently the Chief Minister met the Official of MHRD Govt of India in New Delhi for released of funds to Meghalaya for payment of SSA Teachers salary of current academic year which is pending for 4 months.
