Shillong, August 10: The educated unemployed youth in the state of Meghalaya who had registered themselves with the employment exchange of the labour department in different District headquarters of the district till 30th June 2016 as registered in the live register all together are 39472 in numbers.
The highest number of unemployed youth that get themselves register with the employment exchange is the East KhasiHills District 14993, and the Lowest is the South Garo Hills District with only 144. From among the newly created District the South West KHasi Hills has got the maximum number of register unemploy youth with 3052.
Taking the number of unemployed youth registered in the District wise are, The East Khasi Hills 14993, West KHasi hills 4982, South West KHasi Hills 3052, West Jaintia Hills 7236, East Jaintia Hills 4256,Ri Bhoi 1576, South Garo Hills 144,East Garo Hills 694, North Garo Hills 731, West Garo Hills 1215, South West Garo Hills 593 and the total number in all are 39472.
The Director Mr B Hajong said that this youth who has come to register themselves with the department are thus youth who have pass their matriculate and above, he belief that there are more youth who are not register with the department.
