Shillong, May 18: Mr. Alexander Laloo Hek, Minister of Health and Family Welfare Govt of Meghalaya receiving the keys of two state of art Advance Support Ambulances from Col Narendra Sheoran, ED(P) National Highway and infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) Regional Office Shilling.
The NHIDCL is an enterprise under Min of Roads, Transport & Highways (MoRTH) and is engaged in construction and widening of National Highways all over the country.
As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), NHIDCL has procured two State of Art Advance Life Saving Ambulances on TATA Winger platform to gift to Govt of Meghalaya.
The ambulances are the latest model and fully air-conditioned. Apart from 50 basic medicines and first aid dressing items they are equipped with automatic stretcher, portable and fitted oxygen device, thermometer, stethoscope, oximeter, BP monitor, automatic external defibrillator, two-way radio, automatic vehicle tracker with GPS, intercom, video camera in rear and drivers cabin.
The vehicles are also equipped with rescue items like hammer, shovel, hydraulic cutter, PA system, personnel protection eqpt, blanket and portable fire extinguishers. These ambulances shall be deployed by the State Govt. of Meghalaya on highways and shall go a long way in providing immediate first aid to accident victims and rescue persons in distress during natural calamities.
In addition, in order to augment the Sate Govt. COVID-19 preparedness, NHIDCL is in the process of purchasing 10 more basic ambulances on MARUTI EECHO platform and shall be handed over soon.
